CHARLES LWANGA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
VISION
To be a center of innovative excellence in teacher education.
MISSION
To train competent, conscientious, innovative, committed and effective teachers. The College is dedicated to the formation of the whole person. Guided by Jesuit ideals, CLCE seeks to form women and men who have a sense of justice and generous service.
The inclusion of innovative in both the Vision and Mission gives room for student teachers to be creative and innovative in how they can use available local resources in a sustainable manner. Inclusion of SD and ESD is needed because it ascertains secures the present and future of the institution.
The use of the words innovative teachers in TE is inline with Learning objective 4 which talks about Quality Education.
If I was to reframe the Vision and Mission Statement, it would read as follows:
VISION
To be a leading center of Sustainable Development through innovative excellence in teacher education.
MISSION
To train competent, conscientious, innovative, committed and effective teachers in Education for Sustainable Development. The College is dedicated to the formation of the whole person. Guided by Jesuit ideals, CLCE seeks to form women and men who have a sense of justice and generous service in instilling Sustainable Development issues to the young generation.
