My name is Mlotsa Nkosinathi. I am a lecturer at the Eswatini College of Technology. I got interested in the programme because of working in a TVET environment and also being in the faculty of education teaching entrepreneurship and economics. Looking at the current increasing rate of unemployment of graduates from institutions of higher learning in our country, my interest is on how an entrepreneurial mind-set can be cultivated through our curriculum across the different faculties and also entrepreneurial skills empowerment. Achieving this would greatly improve the livelihood of these graduates and their families and reduce the dependency on parents even after graduation. We currently have a youth that is predominantly employment minded, a mind-set that has been passed on to them by previous generations which is proving not sustainable as indicated by the high rate of unemployment and the inability of graduates who have technical skills but fail to use them outside the space of employment. We are however yet to meet and agree on a change project for our institution.
