VISION
To be a leading centre of excellence in Primary Teacher Education.
According to my understanding of SD and ESD I feel our vision lacks a component of education for sustainable development because it is silent on that. It does not explicitly show how excellence in Primary Teacher Education will be sustained for the betterment of future generations.
In order to address the objectives of education for sustainable development, the vision would have been refraimed like this:
“To be leading centre of excellence in sustainable primary teacher education.

MISSION STATEMENT
Training primary school teachers who are holistically responsive to the contemporary needs of learners and society through CPDs, research, ICT outreach programmes that enhance social development.
From this mission statement it was noted that it has elements of sustainable development because of the aspect of responsiveness to contemporary needs of learners and society through use of different ways such as conducting research, CPDs, ICT and outreach programmes. However, it was still noted that to make it more inclined to SD and ESD the word “sustainable” should be added to our mission statement. So it would read ” Training Primary school teachers who are holistically responsive to the contemporary needs of learners and society through CPDs, research, ICT and outreach programmes that enhance sustainable social economic development.
Our core values are also in line with the SD and ESD. These include:
Hard work, transparency and accountability, creativity and innovativeness, adaptability, Life long learning, inclusiveness and collaboration.
