The Vision and Mission statement for Bunda Teachers’ college:
VISION
To be an exemplary institution that provides educational services accepted by customers.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide quality education to both pre-service and in-service teachers.
1.To what extent does it reflect your understanding of sustainable development?
Bunda Techers mission reflect sustainable development through providing quality education which results into quality resource person/teachers graduated and competent teachers who will be able and acceptable workers in government and private schools
2.To what extent does it reflect the definition of sustainable development that reads “Sustainable Development is development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”? Do you think this is needed or not?
Yes It is highly needed and It has met the definition of sustainable development in the sense that it gives room and lifelong skills to the people to develop the communities by engaging in different development activities in the country. people can employ themselves without waiting for the government employment as they can stars different projects and engage in different issues for sustainable development.
3.To what extent does your institution’s Vision and Mission statement reflect the objectives of ESD and the GAP?
Our institution’s Vision and Mission statement have a clear learning objectives for transforming learning and foster lifelong learning to both student teacher and teacher educator.
4. How would you reframe/restate your institution’s Vision and Mission statement to more substantively reflect SD and ESD (based on your understandings of these concepts and your context)? since the mission and vision of Bunda Teachers college reflect the SD and ESD then no need to reframe them
